What We Do

Access to Care: Medical Transportation
CVCJ volunteers drive people 60 and older who do not drive to all sorts of medical appointments so they can get the care they need and remain independent. We do not provide transportation for dialysis appointments.

Food Security: Grocery Shopping
Imagine not being able to drive to the grocery store or being unable to walk through the aisles because of mobility problems? What a scary feeling to worry about not having food in the house. Food insecurity is a terrible problem for many seniors and disabled individuals.

Easing Loneliness: Friendly Visits
CVCJ offers programs to bring hope to those that may feel alone. Through our friendly visitor and reassurance phone call programs people who might never have met find common bonds and enrich each others' lives.

Respite Care
Our respite volunteers offer relief to ease the Caregiver's responsibilities. The Caregivers who receive this service tell us there are no words to describe how thankful and grateful they feel. Our respite volunteers give them time to take care of their own needs which improves their mental and physical health.

Caregiver Canines (r)
Caregiver Canines(r) is a unique visiting therapy dog program. Our team of volunteers and their handlers bring unconditional love and companionship to the people we serve in the comfort of their own home. So many of our seniors that live alone would love to have a pet, however, they are no longer able to provide proper care for them.

Alzheimer's Respite Care Program
Is there anything more heart breaking then caring for a loved one with dementia? The mission of the Alzheimer's Respite Care Program (ARCP) is to ease the burden and enhance the quality of life for the family member caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or Dementia.
