Giving folks the information and tools to think critically and to engage actively in their lives has been my driving passion.
I started out as an English professor, transitioned to a magazine editor and publisher, became a freelance development editor and project manager, and now am privileged to lead the Media Consortium. The Media Consortium is itself a horizontal network of 65+ independent news organizations; my role there is to create value in collaboration and leverage the organization's collective capacities.
As a former freelancer myself, I understand that consultants I work with need direction and project boundaries. I also know that expert input can reshape a project to be stronger and better. For both, a project must be meaningful and come to a satisfying conclusion.
