Call details

What we'd like to talk about

How to develop relations with the press, and requirements for a press kit.

Additional context

We do well in small, local papers, but would like to get more regular press coverage from larger papers.

"Phone calls" are 1 hour, one-time calls with an organization. Learn the difference between volunteering on a Phone call and a Project here.

Our mission

Bridges ends homelessness through volunteer-driven outreach and individual case management focused on health, housing, and independence. We form relationships with those experiencing homelessness while meeting their most urgent needs.

What we do

We provide Street Outreach 7 nights a week in Newark, NJ, operate a busy drop-in center with Case Management services for people experiencing homelessness or the imminent threat of homelessness in Newark/Essex County, and we provide similar Case Management services in Summit and Western Union County. We partner with volunteers to do weekly Outreach Runs in Newark and Irvington - and we leverage the experiences of those we serve to drive systems change in partnership with City, County, and State government.

Testimonials

I had an amazing conversation with Cary; she provided a host of thoughtful and actionable ideas that will have a real impact on our organization. I got so much more than I anticipated from our call - and Cary even followed up with a recap that included some new ideas!
