What we have in place
- MAIN is a cost-sharing consortium of public libraries. Our central office has 7 dedicated and motivated full-time staff members who are willing to take the organization to the next level! We are responsible for maintaining library systems and providing technical support at 38 public libraries, but we are convinced that we can also act as a conduit to help libraries better interact with the public and elected officials. Help us help libraries in our area to stave off budget cuts and increase the usage of our diverse services and facilities.
How this will help
This project will save us $6,343 , allowing us to further improve child literacy rates, purchase better technology for the public, and put more smiles on even more faces.
Public libraries are under siege. Despite shifting what resources and services are available to patrons, libraries are still often seen as antiquated and behind the times. Funding is taking critical hits from Washington DC all the way down to local government. According to the Pew Research Center the vast majority of people still love the idea of libraries, but we need to let them know that we are here for them and have some pretty amazing stuff to offer either for free or on the cheap: hi-speed wifi, eBooks, makerspaces, yoga, popcorn makers, printing, museum passes... the list goes on.
Project plan
Our mission
MAIN’s mission is to lead and encourage collaboration, resource sharing, staff development and innovation by providing high quality, cost effective shared services to member libraries for their communities. MAIN aspires to help member libraries and the communities they serve to readily access a rich spectrum of resources.
Testimonials
Brian was extremely knowledgeable and proficient. What struck me most was his patience for an organization that was really just starting its first foray into the world of PR and marketing.
