What we need
  • Creation of an E-Newsletter from scratch, or an overhaul of an existing one
  • Training on how to input content into a template
What we have in place
  • We currently have a annual report that highlights our work, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a website, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to increase the visibility of the organization and help support for the organization and allows us to increase our direct services provided to vulnerable families.

Times are changing for non-profit organizations. It is more important than ever to be able to communicate to your constituents why your work matters and how you are creating value. We do not have any marketing materials and communications support. Having your support to tell our story would be invaluable to our organization.

  • Volunteer Manager distributes key information to Professional, including purpose of the E-Newsletter, target audience, and existing E-Newsletter distribution practices (if applicable)
  • Volunteer Manager distributes all relevant materials such as logo, images, organizational history, brand messaging, and visual brand identity

Milestone 1: Analysis and Recommendations
  • Professional provides initial suggestions, including a suggested e-newsletter format and web-host (e.g., Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor)
  • Volunteer Manager provides feedback and shares content for the newsletter including photos, hyperlinks, and/or articles
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager discuss timeline for creation and align expectations

Milestone 2: Draft E-Newsletter
  • Professional delivers first draft
  • Volunteer Manager provides feedback, which is incorporated

  • Professional trains selected staff member on how to use the template for future newsletters

Our Mission is to assist African-Americans and other disadvantaged urban residents in the achievement of social and economic equality. The Urban League of Essex County implements it mission through program services, bridge building and advocacy.

What we do

Since our founding in 1917 the League has put countless numbers of individuals and families on the path to economic opportunity, social equality and the achievement of their dreams. Each year, we help thousands of individuals and their families through quality programs in early childhood education, youth development, employment services, housing and neighborhood revitalization.
