What we need
- Development of a new website using a Content Management System (CMS)
- Training to ensure Organization's staff members can update content and manage the site post-launch
- Note: This project is for a website built with a Content Management System (CMS), such as Wordpress, Squarespace, Joomla, Drupal, or Weebly . A CMS-based website can be maintained and updated easily (no coding required!)
Additional details
A partner is needed to develop/deploy new features into our existing website. Some coding skills and systems integration work will be necessary.
1-Determine the appropriate CMS which meets reqs; whether that be additional plugins to enable new features within our current Wordpress infrastructure, or use an entirely different solution.
2-Build the new features in such a fashion that can be tested and vetted. The final product should be maintainable by MAIN staff after work is completed.
What we have in place
- We currently have an employee on staff who is responsible for maintaining our Wordpress-based website, and is available to assist where needed.
Website has been operational for several years and we have stable hosting. We are open to supplementing our current capabilities as needed.
A UX expert donated time to design the new feature we are attempting to implement, and will collaborate on the project. Front-end design standards are available, including a high-fidelity mobile prototype.
How this will help
This project will save us $16,822 , allowing us to improve technical infrastructure, build more robust digital collections, and begin conceptualizing our next great project.
This project will change the face of how library users search for services across our service area of 515,000+ people.
Instead of calling multiple public libraries to find out anything from which library offers color printing and is open on a Sunday in July to when can I register for a passport next in an evening, a user could simply enter the search parameters into our newly designed web tool and discover the answer for themselves almost instantaneously.
We just need somebody to help build it!
