Project details

What we need
  • A list of potential foundations to target for grant applications
Additional details

Answer is looking for a volunteer to help us research potential grants for our work in sex education. Foundations funding projects related to sex education, LGBTQ issues, sexual violence prevention, teen pregnancy prevention, HIV/STD prevention, teacher professional development, online learning or reproductive justice/rights could all be potential matches. Unfortunately, we have a small staff that does not have the capacity to do an extensive search.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a list of potential topic areas to search, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a staff member to serve as a contact/resource, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,808 , allowing us to have staff who can write Letters of Inquiry and Grant proposals to these Foundations.

This project is important because in recent years, federal funding for these types of comprehensive sex education programs have been cut and more money is being put into abstinence-only education programs. At Answer, we believe that young people make the best decisions for their sexual health when they have all in the medically-accurate information available to them.
