What we need
  • Assessment of what skills and abilities are missing on your board
  • Clear job descriptions for current or open board positions
  • Guidelines for your board member interview process
  • Recommendations for eliminating bias in your current board recruiting process
  • Note: The Professional will not be communicating with prospective board members.
What we have in place
  • We have our incorporation paperwork as well as a clear mission, values and goals. Our COO is ready and able to provide any support as necessary.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,806 , allowing us to focus our funds on developing supports and programs for the community.

When we were hacked, we lost the trust of our board, thus losing most board members. As we rebuild, we want to create board descriptors that will attract mission aligned individuals who are ready and willing to work for our community.

Our mission

Joys In Teaching Inc., will work for the advancement of youth and their families through a variety of initiatives, including enrichment workshops, career development programs in Arts, Science and Cosmetology, amongst others, parent education workshops, community engagement events in Health and Wellness and general aid programs. Through community partnerships, we will facilitate programs out of schools, community and youth centers, and endeavor to work within the Juvenile Justice System to provide programming that will lead them on a path to rehabilitation.

What we do

Our goal is to be able to provide weekly and monthly programs, including a weekly mentor and tutoring workshop, weekly clothing and food drives, monthly parent networking events, and community outreach programs, through partnerships with various organizations.
